Hoaxs news in Islamic perspective

May 31, 2020 0

In the midst of the development of information technology that is so strong and easy, where news information can be enjoyed by anyone and anywhere, we are required to be more wise and careful in responding to the information received.  Information received should not be immediately swallowed raw and directly distributed to others.

 However, this information must be sought for its validity, so that when it is spread it does not cause slander or new problems.  More than 14 centuries ago, the Qur'an had warned about the danger of spreading the hatred and shame of others and the danger of slander.

 For those who like to gossip and spread hatred and disgrace of others, likened to people who eat the carcasses of their own friends, as stated in Sura al-Hujurat verse 12;

 O believers, stay away from most prejudices (suspicions), because some of these prejudices are sins.

 And do not look for the ugliness of people and do not gossip with one another.

 Is there anyone among you who likes to eat the flesh of his dead brother?

 Then surely you feel disgusted with him.

 And fear Allah.

 Surely Allah is the recipient of repentance, the most merciful.

 Spreading hatred alone is prohibited let alone to the problem of defamation.  Slander is described in the Koran as something more cruel than murder.

 This is stated in Surah al-Baqarah verse 191;

 وَالْفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْقَتْلِ

 ۚ ... and slander is more dangerous than murder.

 According to the Public Information Dissemination Expert in the Directorate General of Information and Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Ismail Cawidu, * the characteristics of recognizing hoax news are: *

 "First, usually the news have the words below" to be disseminated ".  Certainly.  That is the first feature.  "In order to be shared, don't stop at you".  That is one of the characteristics.

 Then if we want to test it, open it in other media whether the news is also published by other media.  If it is not published, there is no media to load it, which is one of the characteristics that the news is a hoax.

 Then the use of the sentence can be known, can be recognized and known.  Usually the languages are in the language that is instructive, unusual languages such as news like good news.  Then if it is a photo, surely it can be known if there is a logic to what this photo is.

 Then physically it can be proven that this photo is not true.  So if the hoax isn't just news, including photos, videos, it is called a hoax because it doesn't contain the truth. ”

 So much the amount of hoax information that leads to hatred and slander, the authors invite netizens (the internet community) to be smarter in digesting the information circulating.

 * Before the information is distributed, let's check the truth, if the information is wrong, don't spread it and then remind people to provide the information.  If the information is true and useful to others, then we spread it. *

 In this case Allah says:

 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ جَاءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوا أَنْ تُصِيبُوا قَوُمً َََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََََ version

 O you who believe, if you come to the wicked bring a message, then examine it carefully, so that you do not inflict a disaster upon a people without knowing the circumstances that cause you to regret your actions.  (Surat Al-Hujarat [49]: 6).

 The verse is the basis for "fiqh medsos", the command of God that teaches morals and etiquette about the importance of having to ask for clarification and validation of information, especially news that does not have the authority for the source and the facts.  You might be

 if you do not heed the ethics, it will result in tyranny of other parties, such as defamation, or unpleasant acts which will eventually face the law both the Criminal Code and the ITE Law.
